The Office of Residence Life is excited to assist you in your transition to life at Shenandoah University!
First-year students live in a residential community with other first-year students. Each residence hall is unique in both its style and characteristics.
First and second-year students are required to live on campus. Exceptions may be granted for students who live with their families in the Winchester area or within 30 miles of campus. If you are interested in applying for housing exemption, please fill out the Residency Exemption Form located on your StarRez Portal.
First-year students are required to have either a 15 or 19-meal plan. Students will be assigned a mailbox in the Brandt Student Center.
Living on campus is one of the most dynamic aspects of the college experience. You’ll quickly get to classes and activities, meet lots of people, and be available for everything campus has to offer. Research consistently shows students who live on campus have better graduation rates, higher GPAs, and greater satisfaction with their collegiate experience.
There are five first-year residence halls on campus.
